Notebook: Wheldon, Rice, Castroneves Test Firestone Tires at IMS Today and Friday
Three Indianapolis 500 winners - Dan Wheldon (2005), Buddy Rice (2004) and Helio Castroneves (2001, 2002) - will be performing tire tests for Firestone at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway today (10/6) and tomorrow (10/7).
During an interview on WIBC this morning, Wheldon commented that it was an amazing feeling to be able to drive into the Speedway as the reigning Indy 500 champion. I’ll bet it is! As most of us already know, Dan cherishes his Indy 500 win more than anything else, even his Indy Racing League IndyCar Series championship.
So with Dan, Buddy, and Helio turning laps at the Speedway on a beautiful, sunny October day my only question is… why am I still sitting in my office?
