Notebook: Dario Franchitti Wins the 2007 Indianapolis 500

Congratulations to Dario Franchitti and the entire Andretti Green Racing team for winning the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500!

Though first delayed and then shortened by rain on lap 166, the race had 9 lead changes, the most of any Indy 500 to go less than the full distance. It was Franchitti’s fifth IndyCar Series win and his first since winning at California Speedway in October 2005.

In the coming weeks (and to be honest, months) I will be processing the thousands of images and dozens of sound recordings collected throughout the entire month of May and posting them to IndianaRacing.net. Stay tuned…
