Notebook: Dare to Dream Camp Expands

The Kenny Irwin Jr. Memorial Foundation’s “Dare to Dream” Camp will complete the first of three dormitories this spring. The new dorms will allow campers to stay overnight or for the week.

INDIANAPOLIS (February 20, 2007) - The first of 3 dormitories will be complete in early spring 2007, supplying a place for the Camp youth to partake in overnight and week long adventures. “The progress has been amazing, and we give a special thank you to… IRVIN INTERSTATE BRICK AND BLOCK… whose wonderful work and contribution have made the dorms possible! We thank all of those involved to keep the job moving forward to completion,” states Kenny Irwin Sr., father of Kenny Irwin Jr., the late NASCAR Winston Cup driver.

The Dare to Dream Camp now has the opportunity to provide year round leadership and team building skills, as the first of three dormitories receives final touches. Supported by the Kenny Irwin Jr. Foundation, through the partnerships of local and national corporations, the Dare to Dream Camp provides the kind of opportunities where dreams come true for youth that have never before had the chance to pursue their dreams.

Located on 27 acres in New Castle, Indiana, the Dare to Dream Camp offers a race themed environment teaching leadership, team building and life skills to youth ages 5-18.

Also, be on the lookout for the Kenny Irwin Jr. Foundation American Eagle Tour Bus at races throughout the year. The bus was originally purchased new by Kenny Jr. and is being used to increase the Foundation’s visibility and promote the “Dare To Dream Camp” among race fans everywhere.
