Notebook: New RSS Feeds and E-mail Subscriptions Powered by FeedBurner
Now it’s easier than ever to keep up with “what’s new” at IndianaRacing.net.
Our RSS feeds will now be handled by FeedBurner. Feeds are pretty much all they do, and they really provide a lot of great optimization and promotion options that should help expand the use of this great technology by IndianaRacing.net’s visitors.
For those of you that might be saying “RS.. what?”, FeedBurner also offers e-mail subscriptions. These are really quite handy. FeedBurner checks to see what’s new on the site and then sends you an e-mail once a day only if it finds new items.
I should note that the only content FeedBurner can currently check is that content for which I have created an RSS feed.
Specifically:
- Web Log Postings
- Articles
- Full-text News Stories and Press Releases
- Directory Listings
- Photo Galleries (new!)
- Sound Galleries (new!)
If you have been using our older RSS feeds for a while, they’ll still work, but I encourage you to switch to the new feeds provided by FeedBurner. And if you haven’t been using them, try them out!
More feeds and subscriptions will be added in the future.
