Notebook: 2006 Indianapolis 500 Bronze Badge

Got my Bronze Badge for the Indianapolis 500 last week. I always like to post a photo since each year has a different design. For 2006, the badge is kind of oval-shaped, with the Borg-Warner trophy in the center and this year’s Indy 500 logo beneath it. Of course the logo says “90th Running” and includes the date of May 28, 2006 which in some ways is ironic because that is the ONE day that the Bronze Badge is virtually worthless!
Here’s a “Boy a macro lens would have come in handy” photo that doesn’t do the Bronze Badge justice:

In the past I’ve always taken the time to block out the number on my badge. You never know when someone will commit a crime wearing a Bronze Badge… I can see it now… “Yes officer, he was wearing a Bronze Badge and it was number TT167…”.
Not that I’m paranoid or anything. I guess it’s not like posting your license plate number or social security number online. I don’t think…
Anyway, you can pick one of these babies up for just $100 at the IMS Credentials Office. Gate admission and Garage access every day the track is open except race day. If you’re like me and you’ll be at the track every chance you can get, it’s a great deal. Heck, even if you just go a few times it’s a great deal. So get one.
