Photos taken on Pole Day for the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500, May 12, 2007. A good crowd was on hand to enjoy the fantastic weather and watch a dramatic last-minute duel between Sam Hornish Jr., Tony Kanaan, and Helio Castroneves. Though Dario Franchitti hung onto first place for most of the day, it was Helio Castroneves who would go home with the AAMCO Transmissions Pole Award and a check for $100,000.   read more »

Photos taken on Fast Friday for the 2007 Indianapolis 500, May 11, 2007. Fast Friday is called that because it’s the last day of practice before Pole Day. Teams tweak their cars throughout the day looking for more speed and the last hour of practice (Happy Hour) can often be quite exciting.
