Spotlight: One Happy Race Team

There’s been a lot of conjecture in the past week or so about the possibility of an open wheel merger or at least the possibility of one or more race teams moving to the IndyCar Series. I typically like to keep my distance from all of the hullabaloo when it comes around each year. But look at the race team in the photo above. Man, they look happy, don’t they? As evidenced by the flower wreath, the bottle of Canadian Club, and the rain (not to mention the big smiles), that team just won the Indianapolis 500. Gallery: 2007 Indianapolis 500 Festival Parade

A day that started with rain and clouds gave way to at least a little sunshine just in time for the “50th running” of the 500 Festival parade on May 26, 2007. Colts quarterback Peyton Manning served as the Grand Marshall and special guest AJ Foyt celebrated his 50th anniversary at Indy. All 33 of the drivers competing in the Indianapolis 500 were joined by celebrities, bands, floats, and more to delight the crowds that lined the streets of downtown Indianapolis.   read more »
