Though not yet announced by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, it’s apparent that Stone Temple Pilots will headline the now-traditional Carb Day concert on May 23, 2008. The date was listed on Blabbermouth.net (sounds like a trustworthy source, right?) as part of the reunited Stone Temple Pilots 2008 tour. In addition, the hard rock band Chevelle announced during an interview on Indianapolis radio station X103 that they would perform at the Speedway on Fast Friday May 9. Turns out that the rumors were true… Kid Rock will perform at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Carb Day… and for just $10. No telling if this is part of Kid Rock’s planned “full-out media blitz” for his upcoming album scheduled for release in April 2007, but I would bet that had something to do with the behind-the-scenes negotiations that must take place to arrange such an event. So if you mix together equal parts Kid Rock, beer, Kid Rock fans, beer, Carb Day, beer, cheap tickets, and… maybe throw in a little beer… what do you get? I don’t know either, race fans, but hang onto your hats. We’re about to find out.   read more »
