You can forgive Brady Short if he has the feeling that the lightning fast Twin Cities Raceway Park owes him one. Ten days earlier he had been leading the feature in the KISS event at Twin Cities when Jon Stanbrough inadvertently turned him around, ending his chances for a win while leading. Not always is our hard work rewarded at least not when we’d like it to be. But like many cliches, the one about good things coming to those who wait (and work) is often true. And this past weekend the efforts of Brady Short, Tony Beaber, and their respective teams, paid off. Both won hard fought features at Bloomington and Lawrenceburg. Both earned their wins. So what if only one is a Hoosier. For my money, Tony Beaber is an honorary Hoosier, seeing that he’s a regular the da ‘burg and is one of the newest members of the Hoosier Auto Race Fans club. read more »

Brady Short is a fine young man who began driving modifieds at the Bloomington Speedway a few years back, graduating to sprint cars just last year. His improvement has been steady and his dedication unending. And on Friday night, July 14, at Bloomington, all of that paid off as he won his first USAC sprint feature, round two of Indiana Sprint Week. read more »

Most Any Race Track in America… Maybe it’s my imagination, but it seems to me that car counts are down lately, at least in these parts. One can offer most any theory and maybe, in varying degrees, they are all correct. Maybe the proverbial straw is the steadily increasing gas prices that are driving the low buck racers and the low buck fans away from the track. The lower the budget, the bigger percentage of that budget will be used for transportation. As gas prices rise then, more and more people will be affected. read more »
