Recordings: 2006 Indy 500 Pole Day 3

The rain that had washed out the entire first weekend of qualifying finally cleared and set up a gorgeous day and an exciting run for the 2006 MBNA Pole Award on May 20, 2006. This sound gallery includes 13 recordings made that day, including the full qualification run of pole winner Sam Hornish Jr and several of his closest competitors. Portions of a few post-qualification interviews can be heard, along with the wonderful booming voice of Tom Carnegie calling the action.
