Recordings: 2005 JD Byrider 100

Sounds from the 2005 JD Byrider 100 at Indianapolis Raceway Park. This was the last race on pavement for the USAC Silver Crown division’s traditional cars. Sounds include qualifying, heat laps, the start and finish of the race, and fireworks in Victory Lane with Bobby East celebrating his win. Recorded on August 4, 2005

Qualifying Line - Length: 1:15
Cars idle in pit lane while previous qualifiers pass by on the track during qualifications. Recorded from inside the track near the entrance to turn one.

Heat Lap - Length: 0:12
Cars pass down the straightaway during a heat race. Recorded from the inside of the track near the entrance to turn one.

Pit Road - Length: 0:54
Cars leave Pit Road in preparation for the start. Recorded from the inside of the track near the entrance to turn one.

Start - Length: 2:26
The start of the race. Note that Dave Steele is having difficulty on Pit Road and is able to leave just before the field takes the green flag. Recorded from the inside of the track near the entrance to turn one.

Finish - Length: 1:09
The finish of the race. Bobby East leads Jason Leffler to the checkered flag. Recorded from the inside of the track at the start/finish line.

Victory Lane - Length: 0:51
Bobby East pulls into Victory Lane and fireworks erupt after the finish. Recorded on the track at the start/finish line.
