Photos: Jungle Park Speedway, Dale Maines Dirt Car, Ottinger Midget

Jeff Ottinger contacted me recently to share some old photographs of Jungle Park Speedway and a car that was owned by Dale Maines, which his father helped to build. He also included a photo of a midget car that was owned by his father. He’d like to see if anyone has any information about them. The photos are included below.

Here are his questions:

On the Maines Car I would be interested to know who the Driver is in the Photo. On My Dad’s midget photo, I have absolutely no history of this other than, it had a Studebaker 6 engine. Also, dad had said that Fred Agabashian had drove it in one race, now I don’t know if this is true or not. Dad, also said the guy he sold car to drove in a race after he bought it, and broke his neck. I would like to know more, if anyone could give me any information on the midget. The Half Mile car of Maines last I knew was still here on north side of Indy in a basement. I have thought about contacting his family and see if car would be available, I would like to purchase it.
