Buddy Rice pulls away from a makeshift pit lane in the 2004 Indianapolis 500 Checkers/Rally’s Pit Stop contest, beating Helio Castroneves.
This photo was taken from up high in the Paddock Penthouse, a great place to chill out and observe all of the Carb Day shenanigans without actually getting caught up in them. What’s nice is that you can get clear shots of the cars without too much of the fence being in the way.
