I have some Photo’s of Jungle park. My Dad, helped build a dirt car. I am positive that these old photo’s are from Jungle Park. The owner of the car was Dale Maines, who passed away about a year ago, dad passed away in 1996. He told me several years ago, that The Dirt car, was still at Maines house. Un-restored. Before my mom passed away she gave me some very old pictures of various people and race parks.
I have 1 picture dated September 25 1932 car #22 and she had written Charlie Crawford on it.
The other is dated September 11 1932 and obn it she had written 6Th spot at Jungle Park.
I’m putting together a picture book would love some info on whoever this person is. thank you.

My granddad raced at Jungle Park in the 1930s-1940s, until he was killed on the track in Franklin, IN. His name is Les Adair (also raced under other names: Jim Adair, Babe Brown, Les Mundy, etc.) I am on the hunt for any photos, articles, old programs, etc., basically, anything that may mention Les. I will be at the Jungle Park Reunion this year (2008) with my Mom (Les’ daughter). If you don’t easily find me, please have my name announced on the loud speaker that you would like to talk with me. We will be glad to meet up with anyone that might be able to give us either information or stories, or materials that will help in the search.

Read about the history of Jungle Park Speedway and the antics of fans and drivers alike. Stories, race records, driver lists, etc. describe the track’s years of operation from 1926 to 1960. 350 page hardcover book with over 400 photos and graphics. I am seaarching for information and photos of the race track at Walnut Gardens in Camby Indiana. It operated in the 20s. I have acerage adjacent to that property which is now a Nazarene Camp Ground. The reason I found this site is that I have photos from the 20s of Jungle Park….If you have any Information please contact me at jayhayes@iquest.net

The Jungle Park reunion is held each year on the last Saturday in September. Gates open at 9AM and the show is generally over by 4PM. There are cars and vendors. 2009 IMS historian Donald Davidson was the Grand Marshall.
