South Terrace

South Terrace is located on the inside of the track along the south short chute, in front of the museum. South Terrace is bordered on the east by the Main Gate tunnel and beyond that, the Wheelchair Accessible Stand. On the west South Terrace is bordered by an access road and the First Turn Terrace.
According to a 2004 count conducted by Indianapolis Star reporter Curt Cavin, South Terrace has 1,346 seats.
South Terrace sections start at section 1 on the west side next to the access road and run through section 13 on the east side next to the Main Gate tunnel. Rows are A - K.

Sat here doing one of the testing seccion. Was driving on 15th when we hear engines. Parked at the musuem. Was surpised that the seats have backs.

Enjoyed the Birckyard 400. The back on the seats is a real plus. With these seats you can see the cars and not just a blurr. You can see the driver and with low power magnification you can acturally see the driver hands.
We found another plus is you use the museum and snackbar restrooms. You are also close to attraction. Also you can take a break on set on grass under trees.
The only negative was distance from the parking, the stop running the tram just as we arrive at the pick up point. The other minus is you are at the amin entrance and traffic is very heavy and to get the Checker hamburger stand you have to cross the street 3 times.
I think these are better than alot of seats we have had.
