The IndianaRacing.net blog will be on hiatus for a while. The site won’t be going away anytime soon, but I need to shift gears, focus on some other things, and figure out where to go from here. At the very least, I still hope to eventually publish some of the thousands of photos and other materials I have collected over the last several years. Please enjoy IndianaRacing.net as it stands, and perhaps I’ll “see you at the races.”

The annual IndyCar season opener party featuring the Gainsco Auto Insurance Indy 300 live from Homestead-Miami Speedway, and a silent auction to benefit the Brian’s Wish Foundation will be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on March 29, 2008. By all accounts, this is a great way to have fun, meet fellow IndyCar fans, and build (even more) excitement for the upcoming 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500 in May. Derek Daly, the Indiana-based former race car driver (F1, IndyCar, and others), professional speaker, race track designer and announcer has authored a new book titled “Race to Win”. Published by Motorbooks International, the book describes what Daly calls “The Champion’s Pyramid” which comprises six key skills or attributes a driver must have to succeed at the very highest levels of motorsports competition. Panther Racing driver Vitor Meira and the #4 Delphi National Guard car

Panther Racing has announced that the Army National Guard will join Delphi as a co-primary sponsor of the team’s #4 car driven by Vitor Meira for the 2008 IndyCar Series season. I think this is great news for a whole variety of reasons. read more »
