My family moved to Indianapolis in 1971, and almost instantly we were enraptured by IMS and the Indy 500. As small kids, we dreamt of racing at the Speedway. Now, 36 years later, I had a chance to live a dream. As a 40th birthday present my big brother, Chuck, ran us through the Indy Racing Experience. read more »

Driver Marc Jessup is congratulated by car owner Keith Kunz after posting his first-ever USAC Sprint Car win, the 2007 “Rich Vogler Classic” at Winchester Speedway. Jessup took the win in convincing fashion, after flipping in his heat race and winning the semi-feature even after having a problem just prior to the start. read more »

(I should start out by saying that my four year old grandson didn’t write this. Basically I took notes of different things he said all night after we left for Eldora Speedway on Saturday, April 28.)
Grandpa showed up while I was playing at my house. Mommy and our neighbor Taylor (she’s my babysitter, though I’m not a baby anymore) were there, too. If you’re a sprint car fan, you’ve got to see this! (And if you’re not a sprint car fan, what’s wrong with you?) Mills Video Productions, the official Videographer of USAC, has released an outstanding trailer for their latest video, the 2006 USAC National Sprint Car Year in Review. About three and a half minutes in length, the trailer features highlights from the 2006 season and is set to an absolutely rockin’ song called “Alive” by an Ohio band named Hair of the Dog. It’s an almost 12Mb download, but well worth it. The link is available from the Mills Video Productions home page, and after you view it you’ll want to head right back to their site to buy the entire 2-DVD, 4-hour production. I did!
