Dave Steele drives through turns 3 and 4 during qualifying for the 2004 Hoosier Hundred at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Steele would lead 90 of the 100 laps… unfortunately for him, it was the first 90. Dave Darland passed him with ten laps to go and went on to win, while Steele finished second and Johnny Heydenreich finished third.   read more »

I was very sad to hear that Benny Parsons died Tuesday at the age of 65 following complications from lung disease. I never really “knew” Benny as a racecar driver. My experience of his driving skills go only as far as episodes of “Back in the Day” on Speed Channel will allow. But I knew Benny as a broadcaster, and at that he was very successful.   read more »
