There is the myth about the bird called the phoenix, which is said to have risen and live again from its own ashes. Sounds like interesting reading, but the famed bird has nothing on Chuck Barnes. The wily veteran was involved in not one but two red flag incidents not of his making, yet survived to win the 17th Annual Halloween 200 at the world famous Salem Speedway on a fine and sunny Sunday, October 30, 2005.
