Our very first recordings! These were done from the top floor of the VIP Suites outside turn two of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The cars approach from just left of center and continue to the right as they head down the backstretch. Note how the sound reverberates off the building as the cars move further away. Since today was Kentucky Derby day, I thought I’d mention that James Burns has a great article in this week’s INtake newspaper titled Why the 500 is Superior to the Derby. He lists five reasons, but I think this one sums it up best:
We have the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.” Louisville has a little man spanking a horse’s ass, which is, frankly, a spectacle in itself.

Penske Racing drivers Sam Hornish, Jr. and Helio Castroneves will sign autographs on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 beginning at 7:00pm. Sam will be at Penske Honda, and Helio will be at Penske Chevrolet. Both are located east of the intersection of 96th and Keystone right on the border of Indianapolis and Carmel.
